Henry Dreyfuss 1904-1972

An American industrial designer who opened his first product design office in 1929. Bell Laboratories hired him to design telephone equipment.

His second design contract for the New York Central Railroad was the 1938 redesign of the locomotive and cars of the Twentieth Century Limited - their flagship passenger train.

“When the point of contact between the product and people becomes a point of friction, then the Industrial Designer has failed.”
