Billy Bishop 1894 – 1956
Canadian-born ace in the (British) Royal Flying Corps of World War One. Credited with 72 aircraft shot down.
Bishop said “...it’s clean up there! I’ll bet you don’t get any mud or horseshit on you up there. If you die, at least it would be a clean death”
